BallStars Names Japanese Master Licensee
NEW CENTURY, KS - BallStars has awarded The Amano Co., Yamanashi, Japan, a master license to produce and distribute its Ballstars photo ball transfer system-an exclusive, proprietary method that allows photos and graphics to be imprinted directly on actual sports balls for use as souvenirs, trophies and gifts. The Amano Co. will have the exclusive rights to manufacture and to sub-license the photo systems throughout Japan as well as to produce decorated balls in-house for the Japanese market. The Amano Company, headed by Toru Amano, is a family-owned business that currently manufactures deluxe cases for traditional Japanese name stamps. The cases are usually decorated in exotic fabrics and leathers and can cost up to several thousand dollars a piece. Recently Amano has entered the personalization business in a joint venture with Boys Company of Tokyo, headed by Kozo Ishiyama, that is in the photo transfer business, to expand and develop that market in Japan. Because baseball is one of Japan's most popular sports and its people are known for their love of taking photos, the product is expected to be very successful.
